So how are you going to make money online?

I recommend starting your own online marketing business. There are many ways to earn cash online with some offering almost instant payments to your paypal account and certainly most merchants pay commissions every 2 weeks. Now I am gonna do all I can to put you off, and if you still feel excited, GOOD! Because I know then that you have what it takes to be very very successful in business and in life! If you’re a “Sticker” then you are a success!

For a part time career you can get paid to shop, eat in restaurants and partake surveys. That’s pretty exciting, better than working down your hamburger stall! Huge corporations like McDonalds pay to conduct their market research. And yes, you really can get involved! You can use the money you earn in your spare time with market research to fund more advanced business models such as running your own blog. Read all you can before you buy things otherwise your credit card bill won’t be looking at all healthy! Wise up before you start and you will have every opportunity to earn good money online.

I read blog comments and it is clear so many people are seeking to earn money online but do not know all the basics. So spend many evenings browsing blogs about internet marketing and build yourself an arsenal of sound knowledge before expecting to be an overnight success! I know how tempting it is to read a sales page and click “Add To Cart”! And before long you have more programs to follow than you possibly can have time for.

Educate yourself first. This is the best most valuable tip I can ever give you! Ever! It is worth more than all the marketing courses you can ever buy! Every course is good and will work – provided you have enough marketing experience to make it work by integrating it with all your other systems! Few programs will work for you when you start out because you don’t understand all the many things you need in place before having a powerful profit pulling system of your own.

I think it is reasonable to say that no one single make-money program will work for you to replace your current income this year! Sorry! You just have to invest the hours to educate yourself in the world of online business first. Did you want to hear that?

Think of it this way: have you ever run a business of your own? If not then how do you expect to be successful at making money online? You must first study all about running a small business like a town shop or a consultancy, then study all the things that create an internet marketing business. Without this knowledge you WILL fail every time. Get your education then begin with a vision, a big picture.

Imagine there is a burger shop and the manager falls ill. The only person working in the burger bar is Sonny Jim, just left school. So is he ready to step in the manager’s shoes and take command of the business? I doubt it! You are like Sonny Jim online until you have everything in place in your marketing system and you have at least a rudimentary knowledge of business practise!

Are you ready to be your own boss? To take control of your time plus 100% of your efforts and to take the responsibility that if your efforts fail there will be no money to pay your bills or buy food? What is your time management like? What do you do when no one is watching you? I don’t care! But if you spend time on Facebook playing games then you are unlikely to be successful at building an online business. Better get a part time job.

Cold fact is, if you only ever been an employee you are not ready to start your own business online. But you can still make money online! I say you will make more cash now with market research than with marketing. You can complete online surveys after work and still have time to study internet marketing theory and then watch a couple of hours TV!

If you are low on cash, building an online marketing business will give you just one result: heartache. It certainly won’t pay your bills. Because any money you do make you have to reinvest time and time again. If you had ever run a business you would know that the earnings must be reinvested constantly as capital cashflow. If you are unaware of this, that’s how far away you are from being ready to begin your own business. 99.9% of businesses need a LOT of capital funding. If you were to open a shop, would the shop be rent free? I think not. What about the things you would sell – wouldn’t you have to purchase them first? What about the till and invoices and till roll and electricity bills and rates – the list is endless as you will soon find out!

So if you cannot afford to fund a real world business, even a little shop, why do you suppose you can run an online marketing business? There is one thing every business requires: buyers. Real world businesses achieve these through paid advertising and word-of-mouth advertising. Without enough buyers you won’t sell enough to be able to pay the expenses. Few businesses have enough buyers in the first two years! And then you need to pay wages like your own wage!

So to have a hope of surviving into a third year, a business start-up MUST be amply capitalized – that is, well funded, plenty money in the bank, say $10,000′s – before opening its doors. Because there won’t be enough buyers or enough sales, there will be lean times and unplanned disasters. You are better off financially in paid employment. That’s a fact.

You can remain in paid employment and take part in online surveys and other market research however. This way you will only have positive cashflow. Have you ever been without any food for a few days? If you like to eat then do not start a business of any kind until you know you know everything there is to know and you have $10,000′s in your bank.

Is that the advice you usually hear?

Ever since I left college I have been a freelancer and a business owner. I started small, missed a lot of meals and enjoyed little social life. I did enjoy being my own boss however, and learning to value the usefulness of time. Time management is crucial when you are not living by the bell or factory siren.

Ask yourself: how ready, how prepared, how knowledgable are you about business? How well connected are you? Do you have personal contact with any online marketers who are full time? Until you do how will you do joint ventures? It takes months to design and prepare a product for a sales launch – what are you planning on eating during those months? How would you cope if your electricity gets cut off?

Keep in paid employment until you know all you need, have good contacts, a ready product range and a lot of money to fund your business venture. Two other excellent ways of beginning to make money online are selling your photographs (not so good if you are not a professional photograher?) and selling on ebay or amazon. It is easy to sell your clutter on ebay but when you have run out, what then? It is extremely difficult to source items at wholesale since everyone and his dog will undercut your price. Not good.

The most successful long term businesses on ebay are business owners who already run a well stocked town store and use ebay for extra sales, and a rare few dudes who manage to purchse a steady stream of hard-to-source retro items. If you think you can sell stuff you buy from your local thrift store think again! Why? Because everyone has a local thrift store so why would they want to buy your junk plus pay postage on it?

If you have a blog, several websites, good joint venture partner relations, a ready product range, and a big responsive list then yes, you can consider going full time as an internet marketer. If you lack funds simply sell all your unwanted home items on ebay and in classified ads. You can replace the junk when your earnings take off! You don’t need that aging motorbike in the garage, nor your 1970′s collection of Spiderman comics, nor the PSP nor half your furniture! Because you’ll be too busy working 16 hour days online to even notice it’s gone.

What about the Internet Lifestyle, you say? What have the successful marketers whose sales pages you read all got? They all have a list of 20,000 or more proven buyers, many of whom buy all their products. How did they achieve that? Same as everyone starting out: they put in 16 hours a day to try every way there is of wringing traffic out of the web to populate their list. And then find time to write blog posts and email newletters and possibly create a new product! Time consuming.

In any business venture at all, success is built step by step slowly over months and years. Nothing happens overnight except you wake up disillusioned! True?

You gonna sell me a magic button? You’ll have a real hard time! I have run and built many businesses and I know you have to fight hard every inch of the way. Because even if everything else runs smooth (it never will) you will have hassle from something big and ugly called…COMPETITORS! Thought of that? Get around that one by attempting to nurture competitors as joint venture partners: you will need a ton of people skills for this one

Still excited about building your own online marketing business? GOOD! Because you can! Believe and achieve.

But I want you to know the journey is long. You can’t cross America from coast to coast by hitching a lift to your next neighbouring town, right? A journey of 3000 miles is not accomplished by travelling 10 miles. No sir!

It’s like a house. A business is like a house. It provides shelter for you when the stormy weather comes if you built it strong! Shelter is a good thing. Well, a house is made of many bricks and a business is made of many steps, many corrected mistakes, many apologies to angry customers, many hassles and many months of hard relentless fatiguing work.

You still excited about running your own online marketing business? GOOD! Because you know what I think? You read this far and you are prepared to face the challenges, then YES you have got what it takes to be very very successful online. Just remember this and remember it good: not one super affiliate nor one guru nor one big business owner made a huge success overnight when they started out. Not one. All they accomplished overnight for many months was a headache! But with untiring relentless day by day repetitive boring action taking they slowly grasped at a small success. And then they rolled that out many times over to duplicate their first success.

A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step. And an internet marketer’s email list starts with $1 at aweber for an autoresponder and just one person opting in! After a week you may have ten or twenty on your list. After one month you may have a hundred or you may have a thousand. It is not a race that goes to the swift. It is a race that goes to the stayer.

Any successful internet marketer with a list of 20,000 plus has taken years to build that list. Years to educate themselves in marketing. So why do you think you will make it overnight? Why do you buy into this in sales letters? No matter how good the pull, success is like a house – it’s built one brick at a time. For brick, read “day”! Look at your house. How many bricks built your house? Thousands? So it is with success in business. There is no other wisdom and never will be.

Success in something worthwhile takes YEARS. So begin today! You’ll get there quicker than if you wait

You CAN make money online. But be patient. Allow yourself time to grow into your income.
